After being performed at /71 live dates (except for the BBC recordings, only Aylesbury, Friars, is available), 'The Supermen' was a certainty on the Ziggy Stardust shows. It was dropped after the US tour (Aladdin Sane Watch That Man (MIW 7 MW 7)), but made a re-appearance 24 years later on the US leg of the Earthling tour.

Originally released through RCA Victor on 6th June , Ziggy Stardust was David Bowie's fifth album, co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott. Incredibly, the album was written whilst Bowie was recording 's Hunky Dory album, with recording beginning a couple of months before that album's release.
